Born in Miami, Florida, show jumping rider Frankie Chesler, a dual citizen, has chosen to compete for Canada. She began riding at the age of four on a leadline pony and continued to ride pony hunters, children's jumpers and junior jumpers. In a western saddle, Frankie has competed in barrel racing and team penning. Her first taste of international success came at the 1997 North American Young Riders' Championship where Frankie captured two silver medals with the black American Quarter Horse, Braveheart, now retired.

In 1998, Frankie and her nine year old at the time mare, Ravenna Z stole the spotlight by placing second in July's World Cup Qualifier in Ottawa. Their fabulous season together put Frankie on the 1998-99 Canadian Show Jumping Team short-list for the first time and she was then selected to represent Canada in International competition at the National Horse Show in New York, making her the youngest Canadian to ever ride on a Nations' Cup team. Frankie has remained a member of the Canadian Teamriding on the team at The Washington International (2000), in Helsinki Finland (2001), Drammen Norway (2001), Ikast Denmark (2001), Falsterbo Sweden (2001), Spruce Meadows Masters (2002) and at the Winter Equestrian Festival (2005). Frankie finished the 2003 season at The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair on a high note claiming Reserve Champion at the Canadian Show Jumping Championships aboard gelding VDL Nuit de Pomme.

Usually always on the road with a hectic competition schedule, Frankie, when at home, likes to visit the children at the Headwaters Hospital in her hometown of Orangeville as well as the children at 'Every Kids Park', a park for physically challenged children that Frankie was a founding member. Frankie wrote a monthly column entitled "Ringside with Frankie Chesler" which appeared in numerous publications in both Canada and the United States and was also a contributing author for Gawani Pony Boy's latest book, "Of Women and Horses". Frankie had a taste of news casting when she worked for ESPN as the statistician to the colour commentator at the 2000 World Cup Final in Las Vegas and is a contributing author of Life & Fashion a Toronto based fashion magazine.

Along with Ian Millar, Frankie was a member of the "Celebration of Youth and the Horse" organized as part of the Pony Club 2000 Millennium celebrations in Toronto. In February 2002 Frankie was invited to be the Keynote speaker at the 24th Annual Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians Conference & Trade Show and most recently Frankie was the guest speaker at the 2003 OEF Conference where she spoke to the group about self promotion and sponsorship.

2007 was a prosperous year for Frankie and Sher-Al Farm. While competing with Picolein Zeldenrust, Frankie came in second in the Global Tour Class, the richest class in the United States. Picolien was then later sold to Princess Athina Onassis de Miranda for her husband Alvaro Alonso de Miranda for just over $2million, one of the highest recorded sales in history.

In 2008 Frankie stopped competing to have her baby, Juaquin, who was born in July. Later that year, Frankie returned to the ring with Ranville, her Grand Prix horse who was later purchased by Tani Zeidler.

Frankie has been fortunate enough to have had many a good mount. Many of these come from others watching her talent and skill and wanting a kind rider to bring along their horses. In 2009, Mill Creek Stables was one of those people. Frankie was given Mill Creek Stevie Wonder, Mill Creek Marlboro, and Mill Creek Eli along with Sher-Al Farm's Masquerade to compete in the Jump Canada Young Horse Series. Needless to say, Mill Creek was not disappointed with their choice, Mill Creek Stevie Wonder went on to be the 4 yr old champion of Canada with many top 5 finishes throughout the season. Mill Creek Marlboro and Mill Creek Eli also went on to have many wins in their respective divisions, Eli won the 5 yr old class at Palgrave's National Open and Marlboro won many classes in the 1.10-1.15m divisions. Sher-Al Farm's Masquerade started his year in Florida with 3 top 5 placings in the 5 yr old Young Jumper Series at Wellington Florida, upon coming home he kept the streak going winning the 5 yr old division at Halton Horse Show in Georgetown, ON. Masquerade and Frankie strengthened their relationship and continued the winning streak into the 6 yr old division of the Young Jumper Series.

Recently Frankie participated as a Clinician in the Mane Event in Abbotsford BC. This was a fun event with lots of different people coming from different disciplines to audit or participate in several clinics. Frankie has also been giving clinics around Ontario and thoroughly enjoys meeting new people.

2011 has been a good year for Frankie and her jumpers. The competition started in earnest in January in Wellington Florida and the horses, after enjoying some light work and a little R & R were raring to go. Mill Creek Stevie wonder received many top placings in the 6yr old Young Jumper while Masquerade also had top ten placings. In early February Frankie was injured and had to take some time off to recouperate, so she coached some young riders from the sidelines who then took the horses in the ring and did well. Frankie's student and sister, Mikala Chesler, has been competing in Florida as well this year. Under Frankie's trained eye and teaching Mikala has become a very strong rider and has won quite a few classes herself.
